Description
CUT BROAD FLUTE QUART JUG / PITCHER, colorless, ovoid form with sharp shoulder, linear cutting to neck and below spout, finely serrated side rims, and applied solid handle with cut thumbrest and lower terminal, raised on a thick slopping foot with wide polished pontil mark. United States, possibly P. C. Drummer & Co., Jersey City, NJ. 1835-1855. 9 1/2" HOA, 4 3/4" D rim, 4 1/4" D foot.
Undamaged except for a minute flake to underside of foot.
Provenance: From a 40-year Pittsburgh area collection.
Catalogue Note: A closely related green jug/pitcher (2011.4.84) on foot resides in the Corning Museum of Glass where it is attributed to the Dummer firm. It was acquired from the Stradlings in 2011.
Undamaged except for a minute flake to underside of foot.
