Description
Vellum glaze scenic vase with trees having texture added to the branches and leaves for nice effect, the work of E.T. Hurley in 1907. Marks include the Rookwood logo, date, shape 907 DD, an impressed V for Vellum, Mr. Hurley's incised monogram and X 1889 X indicating that this was an experimental piece. There is faint crazing. We think the experiment in this case was a thinner than usual Vellum glaze, allowing the three dimensional texture to show through and be felt as well. Height is 10 inches.
