Description
Large hand-painted charger made by Marmaca Pottery (Republic of San Marino) done by the artist Neponelli sometime between 1947 and 1964. Signed by the artist on the front and marked with the Marmaca logo on the back along with the title "Scene Campestre" which translates to Country Scene. Affixed to the back is a paper label from "Academie Internationale De La Ceramique Geneve" for "Echange Culturel Mondial" in St. Marin. Diameter is 14 1/2 inches. Some crazing and minor nicks to the edge. Very colorful. From the Ross C. Purdy Museum Collection.
