Description
Very large Herman Kahler umbrella stand with slightly abstract floral patterning done for and exhibited in the Sesqui-Centennial International Exposition in Philadelphia in 1926. Standing 22 1/4 inches tall, the vase is boldly decorated with heavy slip and is certainly one of the largest Kahler vases ever made. Incised "HAK" and marked with two Kahler paper labels, one of which shows the 1926 price to be $50. Also present is a larger paper label which reads "U.S. Customs Sesqui-Centennial International Exposition." Height 22 1/4 inches. Excellent original condition.
