Standing Boulder Mountain on a hand carved Stand. Chinese LingBi scholars stone outcrop that displays a microcosm of a much larger boulder found in its natural environment. Displayed on carved hardwood base. The Stone has a black color with attractive lighter grayish-white streaks and shade inclusions, moist chalk-white appearance. The scholars stone represented a small-scale version of the cosmos on which the scholar could contemplate within the borders of his studio or garden. The scholar stone gives high pitched sound when struck by a metal object. Sits upon a four-legged hand carved hardwood pedestal.
