Chinese Dazi silk tapestry, of 19th c. Finely decorated with elaborate thread-work showing an ascending blue imperial dragon encircled by eight more dragons all soaring through scrolling clouds and wispy flames. Red Fu-bat is interspersed amongst the congregation of dragons. Bordering the focal scene is an entanglement of lotus blooms and thin spiraling vines and beyond the vines lies a bold imperial-blue border. The entire scene is depicted upon a bright imperial yellow background. The tapestry has a pristine surface, with a golden-yellow backing.
