Monumental Meiji Period Japanese Champleve Dragon and Crane Floor Vase. Vase feature impressive descending cranes on both sides. The base has a coiling dragon that encircles the circumference. The vase is decorated in multicolored lotuses, dragons, roosters and clouds. The handles are finely modeled coiling dragons displaying an open mouths. Vase comes apart in 8 sections. Monumental Meiji Period Japanese Champleve Dragon and Crane Floor Vase. Vase feature impressive descending cranes on front and back. The base has a coiling dragon that wraps around the whole of it. The vase is decorated in multicolored chrysanthemums, roses. dragons, roosters, butterflies and clouds. The handles are finely modeled coiling dragons that are displaying open mouths.. Vase dismantles into eight sections. Total approx. weight of vase is 174 lbs. Vase measures 61.25" H x approx. 39.25" Dia.
Condition
Condition - Vase is in overall very good condition. . Vase has old repairs to main body we believe were done at time of manufacture. (See photos). Two small old repairs at top edge of main body of vase. (1) Dragon has old repair in neck area and lower neck area where it attaches to vase. (1) Dragon has two repairs to claws and feet.
