African wood mask, Senufo-Hunt Estate.Circa 1910. Mask: 5"x 13.5". Base: 5.5"x 5.5"x 2.5".This mask was used as a prop by Adam Fuss, a contemporary British photographer, lent to him by his friend, Tim Hunt for Adam Fuss's "Untitled (Mask Series), 2004" photographs.From the Estate of Tim Hunt, Andy Warhol friend and sometimes business partner,who owned and operated Hunt Fine Arts, a Tribal Arts Gallery in New York City until his untimely death in 2017.Tim Hunt was also the husband of Tama Janowitz, author of Slaves of New York, a bestselling book.
