Description

Notebook with Handwritten Speech given by Dr. Ruth M. Graham, Sc.D. of the Roswell Park Memorial Institute in Buffalo, NY., upon the Award of the American Cytology Laboratory in 1963. Graham, who developed the research of Georgios Papanikolaou (1883-1962), commonly known as the 'Pap smear', was able to determine that a microscopic reading of cells could indicate malignancy, even if the body looked and functioned normally. Approx 100 pages in a 4" x 6" notepad. Good condition.
Graham published the first modern comprehensive Cytology text, "The Cytologic Diagnosis of Cancer" in 1950.
