Description
Manufacture Unknown American - Circa 1890 There are only two known examples of this rare, beautiful and colorful bank. For forty plus years collectors have known it as a still bank, but it is in fact a mechanical bank. The coin slot is in the horse’s mane. There is a recessed ledge that is used to hold your coin. Place a coin in the horses mane, then rock the horse and it is deposited into the bank.
The maker is unknown to us, but we believe it to be the work of either J. & E. Stevens Company or Ives, Blakeslee Company, both of Connecticut. This is a chance to add a museum piece to your collection. Cast Iron
