Description
Aleksandr Vasilevich Viskovatov, born 22 April 1804, died February 1858 in St. Petersburg. He served in hydrographic depot of the Naval Ministry, later in Department of Military Educational Institutions. His greatest work was Historical Description of the Clothing and Arms of the Russian Army, 30 volumes, 4000 illustrations. Viskovatov work based on archival documents.
Origin: Russia, St. Petersburg, 1841-62.
Lithography depicting General-Field Marshal, from 1786 to 1786, number 552. Original print in the modern frame.
Dimensions: visible lithography; ca. 30,2 x 20 cm, frame 43,2 x 33,2 cm.
