Description
Emilie Flöge statue, inspired by Gustav Klimt's painting. Gustav Klimt (1862-1918) As a leading member of the innovative artist group Sezession, Klimt is one of the leading roadmakers of modern painting. The now appreciated portrait of Klimt's good friend Emilie, his sister's sister, was at the time a provocative, modernist work. As a member of the Sezession, who engaged in all aspects of decorative art, Klimt was fascinated by the successful haute-couture studio of the sisters Flöge in Vienna. The painting shows the finely painted portrait in stark contrast with the exquisitely decorated robe, based on Japanese templates and Byzantine mosaics. Made of polystone, hand-painted by craftsmanship. Comes in matching luxury storage box with certificate.
