"We Are the World" Autographed Sheet Music. Recorded in 1985 by a supergroup of popular musicians billed as U.S.A. for Africa, "We Are the World" was a chart-topping charity single like no other that helped raise millions of dollars to fight famine in Africa. The song was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, produced and conducted by Quincy Jones, and featured vocals from Richie, Jackson and five of his siblings, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Cindy Lauper, Ray Charles, and 33 others, recorded in one session during and after the 1985 American Music Awards ceremony. These are three pages of sheet music from that session, signed by the various singers who participated. The pages have been matted and framed to an overall size of 37.5" x 22.5" with a plaque reading: "On January 28, 1985, 45 American artists got together to record 'We Are the World' to help fight hunger across Africa. Within three months, fifty million dollars were raised from this initial effort." The pages are in Very Fine to Excellent condition with some mild toning.
