Description

Cherry Chippendale slant front desk on original bracket base - Connecticut origin. The fitted interior with 8 pigeon holes and 1 shell carved drawer over 5 lower drawers. The dovetailed case with 4 graduated drawers, all but 1 brass is original to the piece. Original high bracket base. Chestnut backboards, 1 original and 2 later replacements. Molded edge around all drawers - several corners with minor losses. Overall very good condition, circa 1780-1800. Middletown CT area - family papers found in hidden compartment in desk. 42.25"W x 20"D x 42"H.
