Two figures of eight model plays or Modern Revolutionary Operas in celebration of Nationalism and Chairman Mao's leadership.
Shao Jianbo, the major figure in model play "Taking the Bandit's Stronghold".
Li Yuhe, the major figure in model play "The Red Lantern".
Dimensions: 17.76" hgt. x 11" wd. x 5.6" dp.
Condition: good original estate condition, no chips or repairs.
Sculpture was created in 1993 as an homage to Chairman Mao, on the centenary of his birth, celebrating the success of the model revolutionary operas and ballets created during the Cultural Revolution in his honor.
Provenance: private estate.
