20th century AD or earlier. A mixed group of bronze liturgical spoons in Byzantine style comprising: one with deep bowl, round-section shank, pierced cross finial; one similar with bulb to the shank, bird finial modelled in the round; one with teardrop-shaped bowl, balustered shank, cross finial with pierced upper arm. 248 grams total, 21-26cm (8 1/4 - 10 1/4"). Property of a British gentleman; formerly in the private collection of Russian businessman Yuri Golubev (1942-2007), some of his collection was published in his book 'Symbols and Images'; acquired on the London art market 1990s-2007.
