GERMAN PORCELAIN FIGURAL COMPOTE / CENTERPIECE, pierced circular bowl with ruffled rim, raised on a tree-trunk standard surrounded with three children, one holding dead game, one holding a chick and hen, and one holding a cake on plate, applied flowers and leaves to exterior of bowl and base, marked with blue brushed S crossed by two diagonal lines. Fourth quarter 19th century. 10 1/2" H, 8" D rim.
Very good overall condition, partial loss of two leaves, expected chipping/losses to flowers, one child's hat with filled chip.
