CONTINENTAL FAIENCE / MAJOLICA FIGURE OF A FEMALE CAT, seated on a rectangular base with tail around open front legs, wearing a collar with bell. Very well modeled with realistic facial details and teats. Marked in relief "Pili RBP 1896", with the R being in reverse, on the side of base. Mounted as a lamp on a brass base, figure not compromised, with custom fabric shade. Probably France. Late 19th century. 27" HOA. Figure 14 1/2", 9" x 7 1/2" base.
Figure in excellent condition with several minute flakes to top edge of base and small area of restoration to back of one ear. Lamp stanchion is somewhat loose at base juncture.
