Description
William Ruser 1950s "Friday's Child" Solid 14K Yellow Gold & Freshwater Pearl Children of the Week Brooch W/Blue Sapphire Accents - This lovely piece was made by William Ruser, and is a stunning example of Ruser's "Children of the Week" line. Ruser was best known for his figural jewelry and use of freshwater pearls, and had a shop on Rodeo Drive which catered to Hollywood starlets who loved to wear his pieces both on and off screen. This brooch is made of solid 14k yellow gold, and depicts "Friday's Child". The piece portrays a young, curly haired child who is carrying his beloved puppy and resting on a cloud of freshwater pearls. Both the puppy and the child are decorated with genuine blue sapphire eyes, which finish the piece beautifully. The back of the piece is engraved "Friday's Child is loving and giving", and is signed with Ruser's signature along with the gold purity. The brooch measures approx. 2.75"L x 1.5"W (at the widest point). (WEIGHT: 31 grams)
