From 1881 he studied at the École des beaux-arts de Bordeaux and, since 1883, at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in Paris, where he was a pupil of Jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant, portraiture and painter of oriental themes vogue in its time. Boyé was frequent attendant of the official exhibitions. It produced works of mythological themes, nudes and other pieces of academic genre, in accordance with the taste that prevailed in the Salons.
