Description
Stow Wengenroth (American, 1906-1978) "Harbor Light" lithograph, 1934, from an edition of 30. Signed in pencil on lower right margin. Stow Wengenroth is best known for his scenes of New England, New York City, and Long Island. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Wengenroth was the son of architect Frederick Wengenroth and textile designer Isabelle Stow. In 1923, Stow studied at the with George Bridgman at the Art Students League, then with Wyman Adams at the Grand Central School of Art. In the twenties, he spent summers in Woodstock, New York where he worked with John Carlson or to Eastport, Maine where he worked with George Ennis. In 1929, Ennis suggested that Wengenroth work in lithography. Size: 10.5" L x 14.25" W (26.7 cm x 36.2 cm); 18.5" L x 21.875" W (47 cm x 55.6 cm) w/ double mat and frame

Old label from Macbeth Gallery in New York attached to gallery paper on verso. Old receipt indicating that the print was restored. Wired for suspension. Lithograph is excellent. Signed in pencil on lower right margin. Minor wear to frame.
