Lot 6 Four Collectible Worlds Fair and Rockwell Kent plates c 1939-40 in three different design styles. Plates are made by different companies and have design styles from blue and white traditional transferware to Art Deco motifs. Names on reverse are: Mason's Patent Ironstone China England Est 1780, Lamberton Schammell China Oficial Souvenir New-York Worlds Fair, Homer Laughlin Made in USA, and The Cronin China Co Minerva, Ohio National Brotherhood of Operative potters. Two additional Plates by Rockwell Kent. In 1939, the New York painter and illustrator Rockwell Kent designed a line of tableware for the California manufacturer Vernon Kilns called “Our America". Its simple forms were decorated with transfers of wood engravings depicting American scenes from Manhattan to the Great Lakes to a Florida lagoon, many of them depicting laborers at work. One plate is titled "Our America-Drawbridge" and one with a southern plantation scene with two figurals picking cotton in front of a house. Some wear to surface of 1939 Art Deco plate
