Colorful, humorous, expertly painted saucer that has a border pattern reminiscent of early 19th century export porcelains.
A small round thinly potted porcelain saucer with rounded sides. The center is painted with four boys in various poses and a flower in the very center of the saucer. The painting is well executed. The designs are painted in blue, red, green, rose and purple over glaze enamels, with black used to outline and accent. The border around the mouth is painted with a cross like design in over glaze blue. A red line is painted around the mouth rim. There is a slight foot ring that is unglazed. The base is glazed. The glaze is smooth, soft and looks shiny.
There is the word CHINA in red painted on the base.
MEASUREMENTS 4†(10.2 cm) diameter x 1 1/8†(2.9 cm) tall. Weighs 2.3 oz (65 g)
CONDITION There are no chips, cracks, or breaks. The paintings are fresh and bright.
