Group of four 19th century Children's Illustration Books: 1) The Child's Picture Playbook; With Fifty Illustrations by Harrison Weir and Others, Harrison Weir and John Absolon, (James Miller, New York, circa 1850), first edition, original 1850's printing, hand-colored engravings, some pencil markings, green cloth stamped in gilt, some smudging, no foxing/mildew, 6 3/4" x 5". 2) The Vege-Man's Revenge, Bertha Upton and Florence Kate Upton, (Longmans/Green, London, 1897), first edition, 37 chromolithograph plates, some board soiling, hinge slightly loose, original illustrated boards with green cloth backstrip, 63 pages, 8 3/4" x 11". 3) Anecdotes of Kings, Selected from History, Or, Gertrude's Stories for Children, Kenny Meadows, illus., (Griffith & Farran, London, 1857), re-issue of original edition, small format, color plates (original had black and white), very little foxing, 6" x 4". 4) Douze Historiettes Pour Les Enfants de Six a Huit Ans, Mme. Delarbre, (P.C. Lehuby, Paris, circa 1835), first edition, original 1800's printing, illustrated with color frontispiece and seven plates, text in French, all edges gilt, original brown cloth, spine and boards ornately gilt stamped, scattered foxing, front hinge cracked, yellow endpapers, bookseller stamp, 207 pages, 8" x 5 1/2".
