Description
This beautiful engraving was made by the Kwoma civilization and was used both in initiation rituals and ceremonies in honor of the cultivation and harvesting of yams. These figures are recognizable by their large size and prominent nose. Of these Mindja is said that the water spirits / ancestors proposals that live in the lakes. They are sometimes seen just below the surface of the water. Each clan had a few Kwoma that were shown at the bottom of the village. This is an old tribal used object. Sold without stand.
