The Codex belongs to a group of Mixtec manuscripts that are historical, and in particular, genealogical in nature. Reproduced from the manuscript kept in the Bodleian Library of the University of Oxford in England, catalogued as (Arch. Bodley A. 75) Ms. Mex. d. 1. (2858). This edition is of 400 copies.
The color printing of the Codex was done by Foto-Ilustradores, S. A. (Calle de Augusto Rodin 31), under the direction of Señor and Señora Almela Melia of the National University of Mexico. The National Institute of Anthropology and History bound the Codex. The text was printed on Corsican Antique paper by Editorial Libros de Mexico, S. A. (Avenida Coyoacan No. 1035). The edition of both the Codex and the commentary was designed and supervised by Dr. Alfonso Caso.
