Item Details

Description

A late 19th century letter writing box or lap desk with delicate multicolored floral and scroll inlay of various woods, metal, and mother of pearl. Interior with purple velvet edged with gold stamped leather. Box contains the original inkwell, working lock, and key. A pencil notation on the reverse of the pen holder cover states, "Christmas 1998". Condition: very good but for very small losses to inlay.
