This lot features a Rolls Royce Spirit of Ecstasy polished bronze after statue. This piece is cast after Charles R. Sykes' original Spirit of Ecstasy statue. "This beautiful sculpture by Charles Robinson Sykes (English, 1878-1950) is the familiar symbol used as the radiator mascot on Rolls-Royce motorcars. Sykes was commissioned in 1910 to create this bronze sculpture. He took his inspiration from the splendor and fluidity of the Nike of Samothrace which he visited often in the Louvre Museum in Paris."
