Description
1699 Bible Commentary Holy Land Maps Gospel Harmony Latin Bernard Lamy
Bernard Lamy was a 17th-century French theologian whose book ‘Harmonia, sive Concordia’ struck controversy among many French pastors and priests. In this book, Lamy contends that John the Baptist was thrown in the prison multiple times and that Jesus was crucified on Jewish Passover rather than on Good Friday. He also considered Mary Magdalene and the sister of Lazarus to be the same person. These extra-Biblical viewpoints were considered blasphemous and Lamy sought out a defense of his writing with the second edition of this work by adding his own commentary.
