* Item: Ottoman Beykoz Opaline Glass Jug/Ewer. * Function: Water Jug, Ewer, Carafe, Bottle. * Age: 19th Century. * Origin: Turkey, Beykoz. * Pictured: Floral paintings, and golden decorations. * Material: Opaline Glass, Enamel Paint, Gold. * Color: White, Green, Gold, Red, Blue, Yellow. * Condition: Perfect. * Height: 29,3 cm / 11,54 inches. * Width: 12,5 cm / 4,92 inches. * Weight: 760 Gram. *Important: Very rare 19th century Ottoman Beykoz opaline glass jug. The shapes, decorations, and colors of this can/jar are intriguing. The glass is blown by hand. This can be seen at the rough pontil mark, which can be found at the bottom. Also the spout and the handle are beautifully mounted; the finishes are perfect. The spout itself contains a small imperfection on the curvature and the end. We think (and this is purely our personal opinion) that this only makes it more beautiful. The decorations are painted by hand. Richly decorated with 24-carat gold, in sort of garland cartouches, which are filled with flowers. Starting with 2 flowers per cartouche at the bottom, which decreases in size and number as you get higher on the ewer/jug. In short, a very rare, and also perfect preserved piece of antique!
