17-18th century AD. A group of five plain copper Native American trade bracelets with sides hammered flat. 228 grams total, 60-72mm (2 1/4 - 3"). Property of a Kent, UK collector, acquired 2012; formerly Jim Sazama and Dr Alston Weaver collections. Dr Alston Weaver was a dentist and ethusiastic collector of native American artefacts, especially those found locally in his home state of Alabama; these copper bracelets were traded by European merchants to the native peoples of North America, often for furs.
