Description
Han Dynasty, 206 BC-220 AD. A bronze discoid mirror with one polished face; to the reverse a central domed lug pierced to accept a strap, with two advancing bears and outer band of three female figures each with a bird's head, holding a bird-head sceptre and with a lingzhi fungus; mounted on a custom-made stand. 893 grams, 33cm including stand (13"). Ex Roger Box collection; acquired in the 1990s.
