Description
A gorgeous necklace with Egyptian coral beads and Roman gold elements. The orange coral beads, New Kingdom, c. 1570 - 1075 BC, tubular and of similar size, the are strung with a lovely Roman gold applique depicting Venus Pudica, c. 1st - 3rd Century AD, kneeling with hands over her head, floral elements to either side and within a border of twisted gold wire and granulation; three suspension loop on back. Also on the necklace are three ornate gold beads decorated with twisted wire, granulation and floral elements. L: 18 in (45.6 cm). The necklace is a wonderful wearable piece restrung safely on modern cord and clasp. Ex Nomis Antiquities.
