Description
Two early 19th century French ebonized armchairs, each with needlepoint upholstery, the first with a backrest centering a two-handled urn overflowing with pomegranates and flowers within an acanthus and foliate cartouche against a black ground, leading to carved arm terminals with machettes above, the seat with similar needlepoint upholstery, the second with a backrest centering an urn overflowing with foliate blossoms within a scroll cartouche, leading to carved arm terminals with machettes, above the seat with similar needlepoint upholstery, the whole of each rising on four cabriole legs with carved knees conjoined by an X stretcher, each 43"h x 27"w x 23"d x 14"height of seat.
