Oil on Wood Panel, not Canvas. Surface abrasions along edges from contact with frame: vertical separation (6") with small areas of paint loss and inpainting upper mid-right (background and rooster tail); darkening of varnish layer; horizontal area of inpainting mid-right (artichoke and background); small area of inpainting lower right (fig), mid-right (basket handle), upper left corner (background) and upper center (rope); small surface marks. Modern gilt frame with surface marks, nicks, cracks in corners and abrasions, separation in corners and losses to corner.
