Description
Rare Imperial cobalt blue glazed plate. The bottom has a 6-character Xuande mark and the piece is of the period. The plate has a flared rim and a short foot.
Dimensions are: 1 5/8 inches tall X 7 3/4 inches wide. All measurements are approximate
Condition: The plate has cracked and been repaired, the interior is stained, and the exterior has minor surface abrasions.
Provenance: From a Washington, D.C. collector, whose father was General Samuel L. Howard. General Howard was the commander of First Marine Division stationed in Tianjian, China from 1946-1947.
