Description
A blanc de chine porcelain statuette of Guanyin with a deer dating from the 18th to 19th century. Guanyin holds a basket of flowers with a lingzhi mushroom sprig, and the deer holds another lingzhi mushroom in its mouth. There is an underglaze 4-character mark on the back.
Dimensions are: 16 inches tall X 6 inches wide. All measurements are approximate
Condition: The deer has an antler broken off, Guanyin is missing 2 fingers and there is a possible repair to 1 of her remaining fingers, there is a small chip in her flowing scarf, and there is a broken section in her hairpin. There are a few hairline cracks in her hair and the bottom of her robe.
Provenance: From a San Francisco, California estate.
