Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Sinu Valley (Tairona or Quimbaya peoples), ca. 4th to 11th centuries CE. A beautiful, heavy 14K gold nose ring, hollow and open cast with tabs to fit inside the pierced septum. There are tiny cross-hatched and incised lines around the terminals. This item was made for an elite person in Sinu society, a culture known for their fabulous gold decorative items. Size: 1.25" W (3.2 cm); 8.3 grams
