These are volumes 1 through 12 of the "Recueil des Lettres de M. Voltaire (508, 494, 535, 519, 520, 533, 558, 564, 627, 579, 428 & 478 pages), published by L' imprimerie de la Société Littéraire Typographique in 1785. The notation at the end of Volume 12, "Fin du Tom douzième et dernier", indicates this is the complete group of letters, as published at that time, though most sets have many more volumes. This group has, apparently, been recovered, though there is no indication as to bindery. The covers (5.5" x 8.25"), solid green spines with gold lettering, marbled, paper-surfaced boards, are in good overall condition, with occasional shallow edge wear, including curl to the ends of some spines, and minor bumps to some outside corners, but with no notable tears or prominent stains. The spines are straight and securely connected. The insides are in good overall condition, with recurrent foxing and smaller stains, but with few more prominent stains, and with all the text unfaded and clearly legible. The bindings are secure without, with no loose or missing pages. There are no page tears or notable creases. There are few notations, almost all of which are end pages.
