1879-1934, cast iron with polychrome and gilt decoration, pairing the arms of the Netherlands with those of Waldeck and Pyrmont in Germany.
37 x 34 in. Weight 108 lbs.
Queen Emma, a native of Waldeck and Pyrmont, was Queen consort of the Netherlands after her marriage to King William III in 1879. After Emma's husband died in 1890, their daughter ruled the Netherlands as Queen Wilhemina. Emma claimed the title Dowager Queen until her own death in 1934.
