Born in Corry, Pennsylvania, Emery Bopp was chairman of the Bob Jones University art department in Greenville, SC, for over 40 years. He studied at Pratt Institute and received his B.F.A. in 1951 from Yale University, having studied with Josef Albers, Willem de Kooning and Alvin Eisenmann. In 1967 he received his M.F.A. from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
