Oct.21,1861 soldier's letter to parents back home. A six page letter signed by "Charley" who is Major Charles Cotter, in change of Cotter's Battery with matching stationery and cover. Good contents. Talks about blowing bridges, re-positioning of the battery, etc. Cotter hailed from Ravenna in Portage County, Ohio, area. Active prior to the war, Cotter's Battery became the nucleus for Battery A, 1st Ohio Light Artillery. Suggested bid $300
