Good Condition: The painting is nailed (from the front) onto the frame. Both the frame and the painting show some aging and surface grime.

This large and unusual acrylic painting of racing sailboats captures the excitement of swiftly cutting through waves and wind. The artist has created the sky and water with an extremely inventive and unusual technique which adds a dynamic layer of motion to the scene. Bill Miller is a noted mid-century avant-garde illustrator/photographer and designer. The title and the artist's information is on the back, on a hand written label. The painting appears to be from around 1970. It is acrylic on a hardboard panel, and mounted on an artist-made rustic frame. There are nail holes in the edges, which add to the painting's contemporary feel, and, along with the frame, give it an unstudied, casual charm.
