AMERICAN VICTORIAN CARVED WALNUT BOOKCASE, elaborate removable gallery, two hinged single-pane doors, interior with four adjustable shelves, two short drawers below, panelled ends. Poplar secondary wood. Possibly original finish with rich color. Fourth quarter 19th century. 78 1/2" HOA, 46 1/2" WOA, 15 1/2" DOA.
Very good overall condition with minor wear. Small strip repair to lower edge of proper right door. Later bracing added to back.
Provenance: From a Virginia private collection.
