Description
Salvador Dali illustrated “Autobiography of Benvenuto Cellini”
Wonderful self-written biography of the Florentine accompanied by Dali's full-page, full-color illustrations. Dali is from another planet…another dimension, and his artwork conveys this all too clearly. His art has been faithfully reproduced and is fascinating and beautiful in an almost frightening way. I have never seen any of these scenes reproduced anywhere (there are sixteen full-color, full-page and 26 b/w included). Pub. 1948 by Doubleday & Co. Red cloth cover has a tiny bit of soiling on front cover and a little bit of rubbing on bottom edge. Spine titling worn. An unusual book not found in most collections. 442 pages. 6 x 8.5.
Please note that this lot has a confidential reserve. When you leave a bid in advance of the auction, submit your maximum. The bidder who has submitted the highest bid wins the lot, provided the bid exceeds the reserve price.
