Ext. scarce 1st ed. Poems of Iris Tree signed by Pulitzer prize winner Odell Shepard.
Published 1920 in London by John Lane: the Bodley Head and in New York by John Lane Company. Extremely scarce first edition with signature of Odell Shepard on inside front cover. Shepard was an American professor, poet, and politician who edited the works of Henry David Thoreau, Louisa May Alcott and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. He was lieutenant governor of Connecticut 1941-1943 and won the 1938 Pulitzer Price for Biography for Pedlar’s Progess, the life of Bronson Alcott. The cover of this book has a wonderful Arts & Crafts design. Tight and clean with minor fraying to spine ends. 144 pages. 6 x 8.5.
