Each of the 10 illustrations is signed and numbered by artist Sue Coe. The volume is signed by the author at the colophon, and inscribed by the author on the first blank page to Robert Sherrard, an editor at City Lights Books: "To Robert Sherrard with gratitude for your kindness and sensitivity, Mariarosa Sclauzero - New York, November 11, 1988.". Only 50 copies of this first edition were produced. Narcissism and Death is artist Sue Cole's first illustrated book, published the same year as her first work "How to Commit Suicide in South Africa." Rare.
