Latin America, Mexico, Jalisco/Zacatecas, ca. 1900 CE. An attractive cobija (blanket) or poncho comprised of two long panels of woven wool that have been sewn together with a long slit at the center for slipping over one's head. The textile presents a symmetrical design comprised of twin bands of stylized geometric motifs in cocoa, beige, pink, orange, chocolate brown, purple, and blue hues flanking a central rectangular border of the same pattern surrounding a central pendant design - all on a chocolate brown ground with beige ends and fringes. Size: 42.625" L x 65.75" W (108.3 cm x 167 cm); 79" W (200.7 cm) including fringe
