AN ANGLO-INDIAN ALLIBHOY VALLIJEE & SONS BLACK AND GILT ENAMELED TIN DIAMOND JUBILEE PATENT DESPATCH BOX, MOOLTAN, INDIA, CIRCA 1897, the rectangular box with hinged lid with picture frame gilt decoration bordered by orange/red lines, brass tone corner mounts, hinged bail handles on the sides, the blue/green enameled interior with drop down writing surface to the top and three rows of letter slots, the bottom with removable tray with hinged locking compartment and divided supply cubbies, the top personalized "Captain Carew, 4th Dragoon Guards," with manufacturer's stamped metal labels, fitted with R. Cooper & Son locks. Height: 6 1/4" Width: 15 5/8" Depth: 11 5/8"
