Sumerian Limestone Figure of a Lady Worshipper Seal, c. 3200-2900 B. C.
In the shape of a squatting female, drilled eyes for inlay. Her head shown in profile with a prominent nose and long hair in a pig tail falling over her back. One visible arm rests on her torso, with her hand on a folded knee. Base with eight groups of drilled holes that represent schematic animals.
Size:4.4 cm L - 1 3/4 inches
Material:Limestone
Culture:Uruk, Jemdet Nasr period, c. 3200-2900 B.C.
Provenance: Private European collection, Mr. H. D., acquired in an Art gallery in Brussels, Belgium in the 1980Ís.
